A trained graphic artist & photographer, Rhys Hayward began his craft making low-budget shorts, whilst employed as a runner & script reader for various London-based production companies (Scala Productions, Working Title Films).

His first fully-crewed short film, Behind a Smile, was short-listed for CH4's Shooting Gallery series - it went on to receive further recognition from the likes of Bryan Forbes (director of the original Stepford Wives).

His flair for creating striking visuals has since led him to explore music video, with work broadcast on SKY TV and other channels. His first feature film, Heavy Duty, was picked up by U.S. distributor Koan Inc. in 2013 and has been broadcast on international tv and also released on dvd.
